What are readers saying about Escape to Goma?

A riveting tale of a family’s life-changing hardship, trials, and adventure that keeps you reading. I highly recommend it! -Thandi N.

What a fabulous story. The writer was so descriptive, it felt like I was there. I found myself being drawn in deeper and deeper as the story continued. It left me wanting more. A definite must read. -Paul V.

Vuyo Ngcakani writes a story of resourcefulness, faith, and perseverance. Tola, a young village boy from Dlambona, who longs to reunite with his father, is awakened one night and forced to flee a vicious Gamba invasion. We follow Tola, his mother, and siblings as they face their fears and head off with only their faith in Jesus as their protection. Tola and his family take temporary refuge in a recently ravaged village only to continue their escape the next day. Their harrowing journey through the perilous uncertainty of the bush leads to encounters with an armed assailant, a swarm of African bees, hungry warthogs and giraffes,  as they struggle to reach the safety of the bus station in Goma, Tola’s only hope for meeting up with his father again.  – Madeline Slovenz
